Ken Block, could make his return to the WRC this season of 2018. Ford Performance is studying the possibility of bringing him back to the WRC in one of the events on the calendar.


The renewed program of Ford Performance for this 2018 has focused enough on the World Rally Championship, thanks to the presence of Sebastien Ogier in the main team, M-Sport. Therefore, from the American brand have turned much more in having a greater presence in the championship, and one of the great novelties could be a famous character from the United States.

The star of the gymkhanas and Hoonigan Racing Division, Ken Block, could be studying a possible return to the WRC for this same 2018. By social networks, Block already commented that he was studying that possibility, asking his great number of fans in which rally of the calendar they would like him to participate.

After these words, the rumor of a possible presence of Block in the WRC increased considerably. Today, in words to Motorsport.com, the global director of Ford Performance, Mark Rushbrook, has affirmed that there is a possibility of this happening. “There’s definitely some consideration for that, but still need to work through some things to make it happen. We’re definitely going to see Ken Block in a Ford through this year”, he said.

After the departure of Hoonigan Racing Division of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, Block has focused on other projects. On the one hand, it is expected to run at some point this year with a Ford Escort RS Cosworth from 1993 with original adjustments of Group A at that time, while it is known that it is rebuilding a RS200 RS of Group B for the road.

To all this, Block commented his intentions. “I am intending on heading back out into the woods to do some stage rallies in 2018 and the Escort is one of the vehicles I plan on racing on gravel. I’m very excited about it”, commented the American star.

Ken Block has already run several WRC events in the past. From 2010 to 2012 he held the part-time championship with the Monster World Rally Team, with an 8th place as the best result. In 2013, he competed with Hoonigan for the Rally of Mexico, which closed in 7th position, while his last participation was in the Rally of Catalunya in 2014.
