Honda leads a short FP1

Marc Márquez has taken the best time of a completely unrelevant session until the last tne minutes. Honda has performed really well with Crutchlow in second place and Pedrosa fourth. Andrea Dovizioso has finished in third place.

The beginning of the session was marked by the remaining humidity on track and a light rain that fell on sector one during the first minutes. Very few riders went on track on these first stages, being Johann Zarco the provisional leader with a 1:56.

Minutes went on and the situation wasn’t improving. With 20 minutes to go, only seven riders had set a lap, with Jorge Lorenzo on the lead with a 1:54.940.

The situation finally changed on the last 12 minutes. More drivers went on track and the times fell to 1:49, with Jonas Folger being the most active and the fastest.

On these fase, Jack Miller was shown a black flag due to exceeding the track limits repeatedly. The Australian rider was riding through turn 14 using the F1 chicane instead of the new layout, and all of his laps were being cancelled.

Finally, with all riders already on track, Marc Márquez was the fastest of the session with a 1:45.875, followed by Cal Crutchlow, three tenths behind, and Andrea Dovizioso, six tenths behind. Dani Pedrosa’s fourth place confirmed the superiority of Honda.
