Lewis Hamilton takes his 46th pole position in his whole career in Formula 1 in front of his local fans in Silverstone (UK). His Teammate Nico Rosberg finished one tenth behind. Felipe Massa completes the top3.

Q1: McLaren again down in the field

In the first “quali”, Nico Rosberg and his teammate set the early pace, as Verstappen and Vettel had problems because of deleted laps, in order to put the car out of the circuit at turn 9.

It seems like the McLaren’s were going to get an access to Q2 but it doesn’t happen. Nasr, Alonso, Button, Stevens and Merhi will start tomorrow from 16th to 20th.

Q2: Deleted laps and no grip in Toro Rosso

Nico Rosberg led again in this session, showing that the problems that had yesterday and today’s morning, can’t impede him to show his dominance in Lewis Hamilton soil.

A final and expected Q2 eliminated the following drivers: Pérez, Grosjean, Verstappen (who blame to the team because of no grip), Maldonado and Ericsson.

Q3: First lap and fan power for Hamilton

The final classification group has been decided on the first run where Hamilton managed to be 1 tenth faster than Rosberg, taking his 46th pole position the 20th consecutive for Mercedes.

The Williams cars beat the Ferrari’s with Massa third and Bottas fourth, then Räikkönen finished in front of Vettel. Behind them in the battle for 7th, Kvyat, Sainz, Hulkenberg and Ricciardo.
