Lewis Hamilton was fastest than his teammate in the first session of the weekend, which has been interrupted twice with red flags.

There wasn’t much action in the first free practice at the Hungaroring. The drivers weren’t even able to test the softer tires. Hamilton finished on top ahead of Rosberg, Raikkonen, Ricciardo, Kvyat, Vettel, Sainz, Pérez, Bottas and Verstappen. The Mercedes seem to be comfortably ahead, but the fight for the third place of the podium will be pretty tight between Red Bull and Ferrari. McLaren are hoping to get some more points this weekend and it looks like they might have improved, finishing 11th and 12th this morning.

Sergio Pérez had a scary accident when his car overturned after he lost control on the kerb. That was the first red flag of the session, with 30 minutes left. The drivers had 10 minutes to test after the track was cleared but Kimi Raikkonen’s front wing got under his car and left lots of debris on track which forced the appearance of another red flag.
