Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time of FP2 in Abu Dhabi ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo.


This second session, matching the Grand Prix’s times, was more productive than the first one which was more used to test pieces for 2018. Under the twilight, Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) beat his own laptime record in 1’37’’877. He was ahead of Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) who had dominated the first session.

A Red Bull was again in the top 3 but this time is was Daniel Ricciardo who was third ahead of Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari). The rest of the teammates followed, Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) in 5th ahead of Max Verstappen (Red Bull), struggling more than in the morning.

Both Force India of Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon found themselves, again, together in 7th and 8th spot. Nico Hülkenberg (Renault) and Fernando Alonso (McLaren) completed the top 10 of the day.
