Lewis Hamilton won the Canadian Grand Prix after leading all laps. Valtteri Bottas was 2nd, while Ricciardo completed the podium.

The start was crucial, since Verstappen went up to 2nd place while damaging Vettel‘s front wing. This left the German driver at the end of the pack and he had to come back from there.Verstappen‘s happiness didn’t last long but a mechanical problem forced him to retire from the race.

The most intense battle was for P3, with Ricciardo against the Force Indias and Ferraris. Pérez and Ocon were behind Ricciardo for most of the race. Ocon asked his team to tell Pérez to let him through, but the Mexican refused. This allowed Vettel to catch them and pass them both. Räikkönen had brake problems which finally left him P7 ahead of Hülkenberg. Stroll got his first career points in F1 on home soil, while Grosjean completed the podium after Alonso‘s retirement with 2 laps to go.

Vettel is still leading the Championship, but only 12 points ahead of Hamilton.
