Porsche Team set another one-two in qualifying session, at the 6 hours of Fuji with the #17 of Bernhard, Hartley and Webber first. Both Audi R18 complete the second row of the grid, closer than in the last races to the Porsches. In LMP2 pole for the #26 Ligier and in GTE Pro for the #71 Ferrari.


 

The GTE cars were the first in exit to the Japan track to qualify. Rigon and Calado in the #71 Ferrari set the best time, with two impressive laps, the other AF Corse Ferrari, the #51 of Vilander and Bruni, will start beside them. Third best time was for the #99 Aston Martin, followed by both Team Manthey Porsches.

The time for the Prototype’s qualifying arrived, and all cars exit to the track to fight for pole position.

With a stunning lap, Bernhard put the #17 Porsche on top, beating the other Porsche by more than 3 tenths of a second. In his second lap, Treluyer in the #7 Audi beat the number #18 Porsche, putting his car in provisional front row. But Lieb in the #18 Porsche, improve more his time, beating the Audi by only 11 thousands of a second. The #8 Audi finished 4th, followed by both Toyotas, which were more than 2 seconds slower than the other LMP1 cars.

In LMP2 pole position has been taken by the #26 Ligier of Sam Bird, with the other GDrive car second, completing a strong qualifying for GDrive team. Third place was for the Team Sard Morand, followed in fourth place by the #47 KCMG Oreca, which was unable to improve his time after a mistake by Nick Tandy.
