Nico Rosberg breaks the streak of poles harvested by Lewis Hamilton at the Grand Prix of Spain and come out first ahead of his fellow Englishman. Sebastian Vettel will start third. Sainz gets a spectacular fifth place, Alonso will start thirteenth and Merhi gets the last position.


Green light to begin the classification of the Grand Prix of Spain at Montmelo circuit. The drivers were reluctant to leave until Merhi broke the silence and gradually more of them were on track although with different tyre choice.

Sainz was leading after the first few minutes, but the Mercedes fixed their mistakes in the first round and they would lead.

The McLaren came out directly with the softer tyres exploiting the little traffic on the track standing both fifth and sixth respectively.

In the absence of two minutes there were a lot of drivers on the track to try to improve his time. The checkered flag fell and were eliminated Ericsson, Hulkenberg, Perez, Stevens and Merhi. Both McLaren entered Q2, Hamilton was leading and Sainz was fourth.

Q2 began and there was a hurry to come out.

Rosberg put himself in front with 6/10 ahead sticking out his partner and Verstappen won Sainz the game. Everyone went to the pits to change tyres and the track was empty.
