With FP3, practice for St. Petersburg GP are now finished and team are getting ready to fight for Pole Position. In this final session, Scott Dixon has set the best time of the weekend, confirming the superiority of Honda.

At 10:55 AM local, green flag waved and teams started working to leave everything prepared for qualifying. Although red tyres weren’t used yet, times set on Friday were quickly improved. Scott Dixon set a 1:02.2144 ten minutes after session started.

This time, the best of the weekend so far, was quickly beaten by James Hinchcliffe‘s 1:01.7415, the first time under 1:02. Like the previous day, Honda cars were being the ones to beat. With less than 10 minutes remaining, Dixon got back into the lead with a 1:01.6240 that wouldn’t be beaten.

With that time, Ganassi’s driver gets the best time on the final practice season in which Honda has shown again that they’re quicker than Chevrolet. James Hinchcliffe and Alexander Rossi have finished right behind Dixon. First Chevy-powered car has been the nº. 2 of Josef Newgarden, who has finished seventh with a 1:01.8229. It’s been an incident free, despite Takuma Sato and Simon Pagenaud almost touched the wall and the French driver from Penske leaving the track.

Practice sessions are now over and we’re getting ready for qualifying, which will be held later this afternoon, al 2:55 PM local. Race is set to start at 12:00 PM tomorrow.
