After some controversy due to a contact between Rowland and Markelov that has finished with the Russian driver into the wall, the Dams driver has taken the win with Latifi and De Vries on the podium. Leclerc has finished fourth.

Before the race started, mehcanical issues happened in Norman Nato‘s Arden, and he was forced to start the race from Pit Lane. Race started and Artem Markelov did a great start to pass Oliver Rowland for the lead. Behind them, Nicholas Latifi and Jordan King were fighting for third position. Charles Leclerc was alreay on 11th place on the first lap.

On lap 8, Latifi did an agressive overtake on King to get third place. The MP Motorsport driver would also be passed by Nyck de Vries. On lap 10, King, Nobuharu Matsushita and Sergio Canamasas were the first drivers to pit.

On the next lap, more drivers pitted but, on track, a wheel-to-wheel battle between Leclerc and Alex Albon began, and they made contact. Antonio Fuoco stalled his car after his pit stop and retired. Leclerc finally passed Albon in lap 15. After the pit stops, Rowland was ahead of Markelov on virtual lead.

Leclerc, Albon and Sergio Sette Camara were leading but yet to pit. They were passed by Rowland, Markelov and Latifi. The Prema driver pitted on lap 22 and returned to track on 13th place.

On lap 25, Canamasas hit Robert Visoiu when trying to overtake him for ninth place on turn 1. Both retired and the Safety Car was deployed. Race was re-started on lap 28 and Leclerc overtook King, Gustav Malja and Luca Ghiotto in only one corner, he was sixth now. There was a lot of action on the back positions.

On lap 33, Leclerc passed Matsushita for fifth place. On the next lap, Markelov tried to overtake Rowland on the straight line, the British pulled the Russian to the grass and he hit the outside wall. Due to the hard hit, both Safety and Medical cars were deployed.

The race finished behind the Safety Car and Rowland took his second win of the season. It is a one-two finish for DAMS, given that Latifi has finished second. After some bad luck on the earlier rounds, De Vries finishes third. Leclerc, Ghiotto, Nato, Albon, Sean Gelael and rookie driver Santino Ferrucci complete the top 10.
