The FIA Formula E Championship has published names of the drivers to take part in the first in-season test in Saudi Arabia which includes the likes of Tatiana Calderon, Carmen Jorda and Beitske Visser.

Following the announcement of Simona de Silvestro joining Venturi as its test driver for the 2018/19 Formula E and also that she will drive the Gen2 machinery in Saudi Arabia on December 16 post the race, a full list of drivers have been released.

Keeping in mind that Saudi Arabia has removed the ban on women from driving cars in their kingdom, the in-season test will feature female talents from around the globe, testing the Gen2 cars on the streets of Riyadh.

With de Silvestro driving for Venturi, DS Techeetah will field Sauber F1’s test driver Calderon, with Jorda driving for Nissan, GT racer Visser being fielded by BMW Andretti, NIO opting for Jamie Chadwick and Mahindra going for Katherine Legge.

The only female racer hailing from Middle East will be Amna Al Qubaisi in the Virgin Racing car. Teams like HWA Racelab and GEOX Dragon are yet to reveal their names, while Jaguar and Audi has opted to run a second car in the test.

Along with the female talents, the regular drivers will also be testing the Gen2 cars – after they have driven it in the season’s first round in Riyadh. Most of the teams have opted to field their regular drivers with Audi going for reserve driver, Nico Muller.
