Tatiana Calderon will join Carlin for the 2015 FIA Formula 3 European Championship. The Colombian female racer returns to the competitive junior championship which expects a bumper field for the 2015 season. Calderon recorded a season best finish of fifth last season and hopes to show her potential on her return to the championship this year.

As well as racing in Formula 3 in 2014, Calderon added to her race programme by also racing in the Florida Winter Series, claiming one win in her first race weekend in Sebring.  Previous to that, the Bogota driver has experience in British F3, Toyota Racing Series and Euro F3 Open Championship, following a spell in the US where she claimed podium finishes in the Star Mazda Series, where she graduated from triumphant career in karting.

The 21 year-old racer has already demonstrated to her new team her talent behind the wheel. During strong winter tests with the team in December Calderon impressed with both her feedback and pace at Valencia and Monteblanco. Calderon is now looking for a chance to prove herself in the Carlin Volkswagen powered Dallara.

Calderon will race in the Carlin squad alongside already announced drivers George Russell and Callum Ilot.

Trevor Carlin added, “We’ve wanted Tatiana in the team for some time now and we’re delighted that everything came together this season to allow us to have Tatiana with us.  She was very impressive in testing, and her determination and professionalism will really stand her in good stead for the season ahead.  I’m expecting to see some good results from her from the outset.”
