Axel Matus, driver backed up by Telmex, will debut in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 with AVF team.

18 year old mexican driver Axel Matus is now the third driver confirmed by AVF to compete this season in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0. The mexican will join Henrique Chaves and Rodrigo Pflucker.

It is going to be fourth season in which Matus competes in single seaters after his karting period, in which he would not win any championship. In 2014 he would debut in French F4 with an eleventh place as best result.
In 2015 he would remain in this french championship along with Formula PANAM, having one victory and one pole in the first while third in the PANAM with one victory and one pole as well.

Last year Matus would concentrate in Formula PANAM and F4 NACAM to take both championships with a total of fifteen victories, 24 podiums and 9 pole positions.

Back to Europe is now a must to him, joining a category in which not that much drivers are on their third year in single seaters and this may give him an opportunity, while trying to sort challenges as new circuits and such a high level category.
