The Trident line-up for the upcoming GP3 season is inching closer to its completion. The Italian squad is delighted to announce the return of Giuliano Alesi for his second season in the series under the Trident banner. The promising young racer, son of former F1 driver Jean Alesi, will run alongside the recently announced Kevin Jörg.

The whole Trident team is looking forward to welcome Giuliano back after a convincing rookie season where he showcased great potential: the French youngster is set for an increasingly important role in terms of impact and results. Giuliano made his single seater debut in spring 2015 when he went from pole to win in the French Formula 4 championship.

The Trident cars will be back on-track for the first preseason test of the year, scheduled for March 22nd to 23rd at Estoril. Jörg and Alesi will be partnered by Frenchman Dorian Boccolacci and American Ryan Tveter.

Giuliano Alesi, Driver Car #10:

“I’m delighted to enter my second GP3 Series season with Team Trident. We worked really well during my debut year as I merged with the team and fitted well within their work method. I established great chemistry with the technical staff, the mechanics and the management. We are still working with huge determination and we know exactly where to re-start from in our preparation steps for the season ahead. My goal is to continue growing up professionally and become a constant feature among the frontrunners. I believe that continuity will give me an edge in terms of the championship. Last but not least I want to thank the Ferrari Driver Academy for supporting me in the best possible way. They provide me with the right instruments to grow up under the sporting, physical and professional perspectives. I’m sure that the hard work done together with the Ferrari Driver Academy will be key for the coming season!”

Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager:

“We are working expeditiously in an effort to define all the elements of our operation and I think we definitely have high potential. We secured the services of some of the most desired prospects in business and we are sure they will have all what it takes to continue the positive legacy of Team Trident in the series. Also, today’s announcement regarding the Giuliano Alesi makes me extremely proud.”
