From the outset the driver of Qatar has gone to a dramatic pace and already led the stage in the first control of step ahead of Loeb and Sainz. Furthermore, Stéphane Peterhansel continued losing quite time, 6 minutes compared Al-Attiyah. The other driver of the team Mini were doing a very good job, Nani Roma passed fifth by the CP1 and broke so the hegemony of Peugeot. Began the second phase of special and therefore the first dunes and the early complications of navigation. Loeb suffered the inexperience and began to lose time respect to Nasser. Came on stage the Toyota of De Villiers and Poulter but have not been able to keep pace with the first classified. Carlos Sainz began to squeeze the Peugeot and the experience will close to 15 seconds Al-Attiyah. In the point control number 9 Carlos Sainz went to 47 seconds of leader Mini from Nasser but in the final stretch, Nasser Al-Attiyah has actually fly his car and has been proclaimed the winner of the stage ahead of a spectacular Sainz to 12 seconds  and Stéphane Peterhansel to 31 seconds, recovering much lost time in the first part. Loeb with many problems and an accident has finished giving 1h and 8 minutes.

Peterhansel is placed leader of the overall to 2 minutes of Sainz and 14 minutes from Al-Attiyah.
